A suicide bomber had only himself to kill in Saturday night’s Jos bomb attack around Bauchi Road; as a group of football fans followed the UEFA Champions League Final between Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid at a crowded viewing center.
There are also reports of a few persons around the scene who survived the attack with varying degrees of injuries and collapsed buildings from the impact of the blast.
The suicide bomber could not arrive the viewing center on time before his car, laden with explosives, incinerated around him.
The blast reverberated round the city and was heard around Angwan Rogo area of Jos North, behind the temporary site of the University of Jos. The sound was so loud it shook most buildings around the area. The blast was heard as far as Jos South, about 12 km from Jos.
Close to 200 persons had lost their lives at the Jos Terminus last Tuesday in yet another dastard terrorist attack.
